| i agree whit usernet: on windows there are software suites that linux can only dreams. anyway, linux it's for people that want liberty, main example is choosing wich distribution. linux, in my opinion, it's made for mid-high level users: it requires command line usage, and most casual users don't like it (maybe ubuntu it's the most user-friendly open source operating system based on linux...)
also, in my opninion, windows and linux have the same potential, just you have to learn how to use all the potential. linux community is lager and more active than windows community, so, it's easier learn linux than windows, even if linux is harder than windows...
